Middle School at University Academy includes grades 6th and 8th for the 2017-2018 school year. Our unique curricula continues with the same excellence as elementary school while providing students with an opportunity to explore their personal areas of interest in a safe and welcoming environment.
How is Middle School Different at University Academy?
New Facilities: 2016-2017 middle school students were welcomed to a new facility called Phase Two – the latest renovation at University Academy. This addition provides 9 spacious classrooms, restrooms for middle school, and a media and technology center.
New Faces: University Academy recruits highly qualified and effective teachers to lead middle school students through three important years of their school experience. These teachers are experts in their field and passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals. Meet our Middle School Teachers.
New Classes: Students at University Academy are offered double blocks of instructional time in core classes to allow for advanced learning opportunities as well as additional support where needed. UA offers both grade level and advanced options for placement including high school credit classes in Algebra and Geometry.
New Choices: Student have an elective period where they are offered choices that match their areas of interest. These student selected classes include Technology, Art, World Culture, Band, Rock and Roll Academy, Student Leadership, and School Newspaper. PE is a required course.
New Clubs: Fridays are Club Day at University Academy. For one hour during the day students choose special interest clubs including Robotics, Math Counts, FCS, Media, Student Government, or Outdoors. These opportunities allow students to learn more about their areas of interest and get to know students throughout our middle school family who love to learn like they do.
